چکیده

Background: During infancy, among developmental abnormalities of the hip joint, a broad-spectrum anomaly is dysplasia (DDH). To examine this abnormality, no standardized screening protocol available. Clinical examination most frequently followed, and in doubtful cases, ultrasound (US) used to confirm diagnosis. Aims: The present study aims compare sensitivity specificity clinical US neonatal detect DDH. Materials Methods: This 1-year hospital-based cross-sectional study. Newborns who were referred Department Orthopaedics with suspected DDH examined by both included Chi-square test Fisher’s t-test for statistical analysis. Results: Out 75 babies, two-thirds girls. mean age babies was 6.25 ± 3.50 days. breech presentation common risk factor (85.33%) DDH, LSCS standard mode delivery. diagnosis positive more on left side than right side. Eight (10.67%) diagnosed have based Graf’s using USG. Among them, 4 (50%) had trial USG as reference 50% Conclusion: Due lower examination, should be done

Reconstruction of the Acetabulum in Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip in Total Hip Replacement

Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) or congenital hip dysplasia (CDH) is the most prevalent developmental childhood hip disorder. It includes a wide spectrum of hip abnormalities ranging from dysplasia to subluxation and complete dislocation of the hip joint. The natural history of neglected DDH in adults is highly variable. The mean age of onset of symptoms is 34.5 years for dysplastic DD...

Screening for developmental dysplasia of the hip.

The reported prevalence of established dislocation the hip in an unscreened population varies from 0.7 to 1.6 / 1000 children in European and American white populations. In clinically screened populations neonatal hip instability is reported to occur in 3 to 30 / 1000 newborns while established congenital dislocation has a prevalence of 0.1- 4/1000 of which 1/1000 is judged to be in need for su...

Developmental dysplasia of the hip: universal or selective ultrasound screening?

Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) is an intriguing condition that evolves during infancy. It would be thus foolhardy to expect a screening tool at birth to be both highly sensitive and specific. Uncertainty regarding an optimal screening method is compounded by a general lack of sound epidemiological data. Clinical screening remains widely used. Some reports estimated that it did not pic...
